Mauna Kea Beach Hotel
at the Mauna Kea Resort
Following an unprecedented $150 million renovation, the luxurious Mauna Kea Beach Hotel reopened in December 2008. Built by Laurance S. Rockefeller in 1965 along Mauna Kea Beach's beautiful white sand beach, it comprises 310 guest rooms and suites on 60 oceanfront acres. Various restaurants offer Hawaii Regional Cuisine. Restored as well was the 18 hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. that includes the signature #3 Hole across the ocean.
Guests at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel have reciprocal signing privileges at its sister property, the luxurious Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. Opened in 1994, it was the second phase in Rockefeller's creation of Mauna Kea Resort. The hotel property shares 1,839 acres of oceanfront paradise with the legendary Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. Perfectly nestled into the bluffs above Hapuna Beach, the hotel presents a flowing, contemporary Hawaiian style where guests experience the true essence of rejuvenation.
"Steeped in Aloha, the classic elegance of The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel perpetuates the true Hawaiian traditions of the islands."
